SBJSA Administrative Manager

Position Overview:
Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association (SBJSA) seeks a year-round, part-time Administrative
Manager. SBJSA is a non-profit community boating center in Sodus Point, NY. The
Administrative Manager will report to the Board of Directors and will work collaboratively
with our Program Director, participants, sponsors/donors, and community representatives.
The Administrative Manager will perform and coordinate business management and
outreach activities that vary with SBJSA’s seasonal cycles.

 


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate program planning and registration

  • Provide administrative support to standing and ad hoc committees of the Board, as well as individual Directors, in their duties

  • Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure high-quality and efficient administrative support to camp instructional operations

  • Support the fundraising pipeline of grant and donor funds from source identification through funds receipt and designation/budget allocation

  • Support award of “sailorships” that subsidize need-worthy participants

  • Support payroll and budget tracking of paid instructional staff

  • Support non-capital purchases for camp operating supplies

  • Support community outreach through social media and events

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree highly desirable, or equivalent business management experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated business management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities

  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated competence with Google suite, Microsoft Office, or similar software

  • Demonstrated ability to learn specialized software applications (e.g., Active).

  • Experience with Constant Contact, Facebook, and Instagram desirable

  • Experience with grant or proposal-writing desirable

  • Able and willing to work flexible hours across seasonal cycles
